Ten years of online parapsychology

CourseExperts2016In September 2008 I launched the KPU’s online parapsychology course. It continues to run twice per year (beginning April and September), and is designed to give a balanced introduction to the field of parapsychology. It does this partly through providing exclusive interviews both with expert academics who are skeptical of paranormal claims, such as Professor Jim Alcock, Professor Chris French, and Professor Richard Wiseman, as well as interviews with expert researchers who are generally regarded as psi proponents, including Professor Jessica Utts, Professor Stephen Braude, and Dr Dean Radin. Also it provides peer reviewed journal articles to reflect areas of debate in the field, along with discussion boards where students can explore each week’s topic with each other and with the course leader (me!), and MCQ quizzes where students can test their knowledge.

I’m delighted that the course is still going strong, and to mark the occasion I plan to refresh it later this year with new and updated expert interviews and readings. The April 2018 course is about to launch so if you’d like to find out more and to register then please visit the course webpages and FAQs on the KPU webpages here. Or go straight here to register for the April course.

  1. I took the course in 2010. I can recommend it without hesitation. It is a great introduction to parapsychology.

Hi Caroline, Great to hear of the course’s success. I loved it. It kept me inspired to keep writing on the supernatural. Coming soon: http://www.temple.edu/tempress/titles/2466_reg.html Warm regards, Scott Scribner
